  • TTC Project Invites Employees to Take Survey

    All UW–Madison employees are invited to take a two-to-three-minute survey by the December 20 deadline to improve Title and Total Compensation (TTC) Project information. Your feedback will help shape the way the project provides communications and training. This survey is the second in a series of surveys that will go out to employees at regular intervals. TTC is a campus-wide initiative to attract, reward, and retain university employees by creating a market-informed pay and benefits structure. Take the survey at go.wisc.edu/9b46ux.   • Review Your Address for Tax Form Distribution

    All UW–Madison employees are encouraged to review their personal information in MyUW, including home and office addresses, phone numbers, legal and preferred name, emergency contact information, and other related personal information. If you do not choose electronic-only distribution of your W-2 and 1095-C tax forms, your mailing address will be used for the annual tax form distribution in January, 2020. The deadline to update your address for tax form distribution is January 3, 2020. To review and update your home address and other personal information, log in to MyUW at my.wisc.edu and go to the “Personal Information” module.

  • Living Wage Increasing at UW–Madison

    The living wage standard at UW–Madison is increasing from $13.27 per hour to $13.62 per hour as of December 22, 2019. The increase applies to all University Staff and Temporary Employees. UW–Madison follows the City of Madison living wage standard. Employees do not receive the living wage if they are in special employment programs or if an individual indicates that a higher rate of pay would adversely affect their eligibility for benefits programs such as Social Security or disability. The living wage policy does not apply to student employees.

    The Title and Total Compensation (TTC) Project Resource Library features online learning, factsheets, and videos to help build understanding of how job titles, position descriptions, and salary structures will change for many UW–Madison staff. The new job titles and position descriptions will take effect in spring, 2020. Resources will be updated frequently.   • Resources and Events for Campus Supervisors

    Campus Supervisors Network (CSN) is a Community of Practice dedicated to promoting leadership and personnel management at UW–Madison. CSN supports managers and supervisors by fostering the sharing of ideas and best practices. A planning committee of peers develops training and networking opportunities.   • Winter Parking Rules in Effect

    UW–Madison campus winter parking rules went into effect November 15 and will remain in effect through March 15, 2020. Rules are enforced 2–6 a.m. every day, regardless of weather conditions. There is no parking along Observatory Drive or Linden Drive, and parking is restricted to designated rows in several campus parking lots. If the university declares a Snow Action Day, no parking is allowed on the top level of UW parking ramps.   • Road Closure Correction and Update

    Last week’s issue of Working at UW incorrectly stated that a section of Observatory Drive near the Natatorium would be closed to traffic through Friday, Dec. 9. It is currently anticipated that this section of Observatory Drive will reopen on Monday, Dec. 9. Updates on road closures and detours are available at transportation.wisc.edu.

  • Partners in Giving Campaign Invites Gifts of All Sizes

    Through Partners in Giving, UW–Madison employees can donate to the local, national, and international charities of their choice. Online donations can be made through payroll deduction or by credit card at giving.wi.gov. Or, submit a paper pledge form and make a gift through payroll deduction, cash, or check. Even a small gift of $1, $5 or $10 per pay period can have a positive impact in our community and around the world. The “Give Hope” campaign runs through Nov. 29, although contributions will be welcomed through May 15, 2020.

  • Road Closures and Detours Update

    Construction projects continue to affect traffic patterns on campus. Due to weather delays, a section of Observatory Drive near the Natatorium will be closed to traffic through Friday, Dec. 9. East-west traffic is detoured to Linden Drive and some Madison Metro Transit bus routes are affected, including campus bus routes 80 and 84. In addition, Mills Street between University Avenue and Johnson Street is closed to two-way traffic until mid-to-late 2020. Traffic should detour via Brooks, Charter, or Park Street.
