Town Hall to Address Plans for Spring Semester

A town hall event will be held this Friday, Jan. 21, from noon to 1 p.m. and can be viewed live at go.wisc.edu/covid-qa. UW–Madison experts will answer questions about the spring semester and how the university plans to navigate the continuing COVID-19 situation. Questions can be submitted in advance of the event at go.wisc.edu/january21. The presentation will be captioned and interpreted. A recording will be posted on covidresponse.wisc.edu.

W-2 Forms Now Available Online

Electronic 2021 W-2 Forms are now available online on MyUW at my.wisc.edu. Employees will receive a paper copy of the W-2 Form via U.S. mail postmarked by January 31, 2022. Paper copies are mailed to all employees except those who chose electronic-only delivery of their W-2 Form by January 13, 2022. Employees should use their W-2 Form, not their final 2021 earnings statement, to file their tax returns. Some employees will receive additional tax forms from UW System. These additional forms are not applicable to all employees.

New Website Devoted to Chancellor Search

A new website provides information about the search for the next UW–Madison chancellor. The site, found at chancellorsearch.wisc.edu,  includes a prospectus for the position, search timeline, and other details for the campus community and stakeholders. The Search and Screen Committee is continuing to hold listening sessions throughout January, including upcoming sessions for community members and alumni, faculty, instructional academic staff, and students. Sessions for other Academic Staff and University Staff took place earlier in the month.

Construction Update for Charter Street Area

The plan for construction at Charter Street between University and Lathrop has been updated. Charter Street is now expected to partially reopen, with one lane of traffic each way, on Monday, Jan. 31. Some pedestrian routes are expected to reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 25. The project will run through March and continue to affect auto, bus, bicycle, and pedestrian travel.
