A Week of Celebration to Mark Investiture of Chancellor Mnookin

On April 14, UW–Madison will formally welcome Chancellor Jennifer L. Mnookin as its 30th leader with an investiture ceremony, one of the oldest traditions in academia. A live stream of the investiture ceremony will be available at investiture.wisc.edu. Following the ceremony, a campus community picnic celebration will be held at noon, April 14, on Library Mall. The picnic will feature free food, entertainment, and the inaugural serving of Chancellor Mnookin’s ice cream flavor. The event is open to all faculty, staff, students, guests, and Madison community members. The week of April 10‒14 will include a variety of associated campus and community events.

Recognition Event for Second- and Third-Shift Employees

As part of investiture week, UW‒Madison will host a special event to recognize second- and third-shift employees on Tuesday, April 11, 10:30 p.m.‒12:30 a.m. at the Kohl Center. Chancellor Jennifer Mnookin will speak at 11:30 p.m. Bucky Badger and the UW Band will be in attendance. All materials and speeches will be translated into English, Spanish, Hmong, Tibetan, Chinese, and Nepali. All are welcome.

University Avenue Construction Will Affect Commuters

A City of Madison project to reconstruct University Avenue is expected to resume April 10 and will cause lane, sidewalk, and bike path closures between University Bay Drive and Shorewood Boulevard. Commuters should expect delays and plan accordingly. Find details at transportation.wisc.edu.

Workday Walkthrough Overview of Benefits & Pay Hub

When Workday goes live at every UW System institution in 2024, all faculty and staff will use a new Benefits & Pay Hub, a single location to view benefits, payroll, and compensation information. An overview of this hub will be provided on Thursday, April 13, 3‒4 p.m. via Zoom. A new Model My Pay paycheck estimator will also be demonstrated. Workday Walkthroughs are not training; rather, they are your best opportunity to get a look at Workday before training begins in 2024.
