March 19, 2025 |  |  | Family Caregiving Resources for EmployeesUW–Madison is aware that some employees may be balancing work and family caregiving responsibilities due to the impacts of the ongoing pandemic. Units will continue to offer workplace flexibility to employees when possible and appropriate. Workplace flexibilities may include remote work, alternative work weeks, variable hours, reassignment, and other options, implemented wherever feasible. Information about family caregiving options and resources is available at hr.wisc.edu/covid19/family-caregiving. The university also offers a number of leave options for employees, and details are available at hr.wisc.edu/covid19/leave. Employees with family caregiving concerns are encouraged to speak with their supervisor, department chair, or local human resources contact regarding their options.  |  |  |  | Nominations Open for 2022 Administrative Improvement AwardsEach year, UW–Madison celebrates members of our community who provide critical administrative support of our academic, research, and outreach mission. The Administrative Improvement Awards recognize outstanding work in process redesign/development or customer service that has resulted in improved efficiency, new revenue channels, cost or time savings, improved service delivery, or other benefits. Nominations are now open for individuals and teams. The nomination deadline is Tuesday, Jan. 25. Details and the nomination form are available at vc.wisc.edu/aia.  |  |  |  | Pre-Semester Course Preparation Workshops for InstructorsStarting January 2022, the Center for Teaching, Learning and Mentoring and the Teaching Academy will offer Teaching at UW: Pre-Semester Course Preparation. This new offering includes four, pre-semester, fully online, interactive workshops that introduce evidence-based practices, and help instructors consider meaningful strategies to enhance their course design and instruction. Faculty, instructional academic staff, and graduate student instructors are welcome to participate. Registration has been extended to January 5. Additional Teaching at UW sessions will be offered throughout the spring 2022 semester.  |  |  |  | Partners in Giving Volunteer Award Nomination Deadline Jan. 31Nominations are now being accepted for volunteers who did outstanding work to support the fall 2021 Partners in Giving Campaign. The nomination process is quick and easy. Photos and attachments may be included. Award descriptions and the nomination form are available at giving.wi.gov/award-nomination-form.
