March 26, 2025 |  |  | Plan Ahead for Campus Parking on August 31The Wisconsin Badgers will play the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers at 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 31. A Friday night football game will bring thousands of visitors to campus at the end of the work week. Traffic and delays are expected. Some parking permit holders will need to relocate their vehicles before 5 p.m. on August 31. Parking details, including a list of parking lots affected, can be found at transportation.wisc.edu. To reduce congestion on campus, some UW–Madison employees may wish to consider leaving work early or taking time off (with supervisor approval). Employees are also encouraged to travel to campus by bus, carpool, biking or walking on game day.  |  |  |  | Faculty and Staff Meal Plan Offers SavingsUW–Madison faculty and staff can save money at any of six University Housing dining locations by joining a meal plan offered by University Housing. For a $25 annual fee, members receive a 20 percent discount on most food items during the academic year (Aug. 27, 2018–May 3, 2019). Program members must use their Wiscard for purchases to receive the discount. Deposits can be made to a Wiscard account online, in person, or by mail. To sign up for the meal plan, visit the Dining Office in the lower level of the Gordon Dining and Event Center.  |  |  |  | Reesor Named Vice Chancellor for Student AffairsLori Reesor has joined UW–Madison in the newly created role of vice chancellor for student affairs. Her first day was July 1. The vice chancellor role is designed to strengthen the student experience on campus. Units reporting to the new vice chancellor for student affairs are the Wisconsin Union, the Division of Recreational Sports, University Health Services and the Division of Student Life. Reesor has started meeting with employees of the units that report to her. Reesor has a Twitter page @LoriReesor.  |  |  |  | Alumni Park Event Introduces UW TraditionsUW–Madison faculty and staff are welcome to join the Wisconsin Alumni Association (WAA) for an open house at Alumni Park and One Alumni Place. “Tours and Traditions” is scheduled for Aug. 28, 29 and 30 from 1–3 p.m. Participants will enjoy an informal talk on “UW Traditions: From Bucky Badger to the Wisconsin Idea.” The talk is followed by a guided tour of Alumni Park and its exhibits. Light refreshments will be served. Each tour and talk takes approximately 30 minutes. Participants can stay for the entire event, drop in for part of it, or join the event in progress.
