The university’s guidance for what to do if you are contacted by or come into contact with someone representing a government agency in a campus workspace remains unchanged and is posted.  |  |  |  | Showcase 2026 call for proposals and registrationThe Office of Strategic Consulting is now accepting proposals for breakout sessions and posters at Showcase 2026, the annual campus event highlighting continuous improvement at UW–Madison. This free in-person event will be held at Union South on Thursday, April 23, from 8:00 a.m. to noon. Faculty and staff are encouraged to submit proposals for one-hour breakout sessions on topics related to organizational effectiveness. Breakout session proposals are due by Feb. 13. Proposals for posters are due by March 13. Registration is now open for the event.  |  |  |  | Webinar helps employees manage the winter bluesLifeMatters and the Employee Assistance Office are offering a virtual webinar, The Winter Blues, on Tuesday, Jan. 27, noon–1 p.m. via Zoom. The transition into the winter season can bring decreased energy and a change in mood. Participants will learn about the causes and effects of the winter blues. The webinar is offered at no cost to all UW–Madison employees. Register online to receive the Zoom link.  |  |  |  | Coaching course offered in person next weekCoaching and Developing Others is a free course open to all UW–Madison faculty and staff. Participants will improve the skills needed to coach others, whether that is peer to peer, supervisor to supervisee, or with family and friends. Limited seating remains for the next in-person session on Thursday, Jan. 29, 1–3:30 p.m. at 21 North Park Street, Madison. The course will also be offered online later in 2026, but those who prefer a classroom experience may wish to attend the January session. This course is part of the Fully Prepared to Lead program from Learning and Talent Development.  |  |
