March 21, 2025 | | | Vaccine Appointments Available on CampusUniversity Health Services (UHS) has COVID-19 vaccine appointments available for employees and students. All UW–Madison employees are encouraged to get vaccinated and help protect the health and safety of our campus community. UHS is also now able to offer vaccines to anyone who lives, works or studies in Wisconsin, including friends and family of UW–Madison students and employees. For more information and to schedule a vaccine appointment, visit go.wisc.edu/covid19vaccine. | | | | Employee Input Requested on Plans for FallMost UW–Madison employees will be returning to campus in August to prepare for the Fall 2021 semester. Employees are encouraged to provide input on the return to campus by responding to an online survey. The survey asks questions about employee preferences and concerns about this transition, experiences with remote work, and how the university can best support the many employees who are returning to on-site work. Most employees will be able to complete the survey in 5–10 minutes. Employees who currently spend 50 percent or more of their time working on site are also encouraged to complete the survey. Responses to the survey are confidential. The deadline to respond is April 29. The employee survey can be found at go.wisc.edu/19w458. | | | | Town Hall on Single Payroll for Employees with Nine-Month AppointmentsAs previously announced, all UW System employees who are paid monthly—including UW–Madison employees—will be moved to a biweekly pay schedule beginning in July. A virtual Town Hall will be hosted by UW System on Tuesday, May 4, 8–9 a.m., specifically for those employees who are paid over nine months. (A Town Hall scheduled for May 13 will address employees paid over 12 months.) Advance registration is not required. The event will be recorded for viewing later on demand. Transition timelines, frequently asked questions, financial resources, and contact information for employees who need assistance can be found at hr.wisc.edu/single-payroll. | | | | FP&M Employee Recognition Awards Accepting NominationsEach year the Facilities Planning & Management (FP&M) Employee Recognition Awards recognize FP&M employees who keep the UW–Madison campus a safe and welcoming place to learn and work. Any member of the campus community can nominate an FP&M employee for an award. Complete the nomination form online or print and submit a form in any of six languages. The nomination deadline is May 7. Learn more at inside.fpm.wisc.edu/employee-recognition. | | | | Outside Employment Reporting for University StaffUW–Madison University Staff employees are not prohibited from accepting outside employment, provided that the outside employment does not interfere with their duties to the university. UW System policy prohibits University Staff employees from accepting outside employment that causes a conflict of interest with their university employment. If a University Staff member is considering or is currently working an additional job outside the UW, they need to self-determine if the outside job duties are in conflict with their UW job duties. In these situations, employees should provide details about the outside employment to their supervisor. The supervisor will let the employee know if they are able to start or continue with the outside employment. University Staff members who are not sure whether they need to take action or have questions about the policy should speak with their supervisor. To learn more, visit go.wisc.edu/35285b. | |
