March 19, 2025 |  |  | Pay adjustments will total 4 percent for faculty and staffFaculty, Academic Staff, University Staff, and Limited Appointees will be receiving a 2 percent wage increase in each of the next two years under the 2021–2023 pay plan. The 4 percent increase will be phased in, with the first 2 percent increase taking effect Jan. 2, 2022, and the second 2 percent in January 2023. To be eligible to receive the January 2022 pay increase, individuals must have been employed in their current positions on December 5, 2021. Additional eligibility requirements apply. Employees should expect to see the Jan. 2, 2022, increase on their earnings statement for Jan. 27, 2022. Applications are now open for new in-person and online course sessions in January and March 2022. Courses are free and open to all instructors, including faculty, academic staff, and graduate students.  |  |  |  | Construction affects traffic and pedestrian routesConstruction related to the Bascom-Lathrop utility project will impact traffic, bicycle, and pedestrian routes on and around Charter Street and Lathrop Drive. A section of Lathrop Drive south of Birge Hall is now closed, and both lanes of Charter Street north of the Charter and University intersection will close Thursday, Dec. 23. Some pedestrian, traffic, and Madison Metro Transit routes will detour. Ongoing construction along University Avenue has closed the two northern traffic lanes, northern bike lane, and sidewalk of University Avenue between N. Mills Street and N. Charter Street.
