UW–Madison employees are reminded to make plans to use personal holiday hours or vacation carryover by the upcoming deadlines. Faculty, Academic Staff, and Limited Appointees with 12-month (annual basis) appointments must use all carried-over vacation and personal holiday hours by June 30, 2023, the end of the fiscal year. Floating holidays earned on Dec. 24, 2022, and Dec. 31, 2022, must also be used by June 30. For University Staff, all carried-over vacation and all personal holiday hours must be used by December 31, the end of the calendar year. Employees who are eligible to bank leave may do so. Any vacation carryover or personal holiday hours remaining after these respective deadlines will be lost. Leave balances can be found under “Time and Absence” in MyUW. Employees who wish to verify their leave balances and the corresponding deadlines should contact the human resources department in their school, college, or division.

UW–Madison is seeking nominations for faculty, staff, students, or community members for the 2023 UW System Dr. P.B. Poorman Award for Outstanding Achievement on Behalf of LGBTQ+ People. The award recognizes LGBTQ+ people or their allies who have contributed in the following ways: their advocacy, activism, or scholarship has fostered social justice and organizational change; they have created positive transformation within their institutions and/or the community to achieve the goals of diversity, equity, and inclusion; and /or their efforts are improving the climate for, or status and visibility of, LGBTQ+ people. To submit a nomination, please send a single nomination letter of no more than three pages to Lindsey Stoddard Cameron at lindsey.stoddardcameron@wisc.edu by Friday, May 5th.

University Marketing is building a website to celebrate the University of Wisconsin–Madison's 175th anniversary. All members of the UW community are invited to submit ideas for UW‒Madison events, discoveries, or milestones that have made a lasting impact beyond campus. Predictions for future UW‒Madison discoveries and achievements are also welcome, and should be submitted using this form. Select ideas will be featured on the 175th anniversary website. Submissions are due by Friday, May 5.
