Teaching institute offers best practices for instructors

New and returning instructors are invited to the Pre-semester Teaching Institute on August 27, 8:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m., at the Memorial Union. This event will share strategies for communicating clear expectations to students, designing effective activities and assessments, and engaging students through active learning and technology. The institute is free and open to all who teach and support instruction at UW–Madison. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Register to attend.

Parking permit and bus pass updates from Transportation Services

Round 2 parking permit offers will be emailed July 30–31 and must be accepted by the August 12 deadline. Afternoon, night, motorcycle, and moped parking permits for the upcoming year will be available for purchase starting August 1. Employees can also renew or purchase a bus pass starting August 1. Conference call for proposals deadline approaching

Proposals are invited through August 1 from potential speakers at the annual Leadership and Management Development Conference, scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 22 at Union South. The conference provides emerging and advanced leaders, as well as those who are not in a direct leadership position, with professional development to enhance their skills and manage more effectively. Criteria for successful proposals and possible topics are available on the conference website. Conference registration is also open.
