An economist and educator, Blank served in high-level U.S. government and academic positions and as chancellor of UW–Madison from 2013 to 2022. All members of the community are invited to share tributes on this page.  |  |  |  | Administrative Professionals Conference Registration OpenRegistration is now open for the Administrative Professionals Conference, scheduled for Wednesday, April 12, 8:30 a.m.‒3:30 p.m. at Union South. The conference, formerly known as the Office Professionals Conference, is designed for UW employees and Madison community members who would like to learn skills across a wide variety of personal and professional topics. The keynote session will look at “How to Find Work/Life Balance When There is None.” Managers and supervisors are encouraged to approve requests from staff to attend the conference. Registration—which includes the keynote, workshops, and lunch—has a $125 fee and is due by March 28.  |  |  |  | Active Badger Day Features Free Fitness ActivitiesRec Well will be offering a full day and evening of fitness activities for faculty, staff, and students on Active Badger Day, Thursday, March 2. The goal is to inspire members of the UW‒Madison community to play hard, get fit, and live well. Some of the scheduled events include free fitness classes, yoga, healthful meals from University Housing Dining, and self-guided walking tours at Chazen Museum. Although the opportunity to give through payroll deduction concluded in the fall, the campaign continues through May 14, giving UW employees and retirees the opportunity to donate using a credit card, check or cash.
