March 19, 2025 |  |  | Updates for Employees Who Are Working RemotelyIn response to COVID-19 and concerns about health and safety, many employees have been working remotely. These employees should continue to work remotely until instructed otherwise by their supervisor, human resources contact, dean, or director. Campus operations will resume gradually, with health and safety protocols for UW–Madison employees and students in place. Campus leadership will provide a more detailed plan for returning to work later this summer. Those employees who have been working on campus to maintain essential operations will continue to do so. Employees are encouraged to visit covid19.wisc.edu for the latest information on the campus response to the pandemic.  |  |  |  | Nominations Open for Outstanding Women of Color AwardsThe UW–Madison Outstanding Women of Color Awards acknowledge and honor women of color among UW–Madison faculty, staff, students, and in the Greater Madison community. The awards recognize contributions in one or more of the following areas: social justice, activism, and advocacy on behalf of disadvantaged, marginalized populations; community service; scholarly research, writing, speaking and/or teaching on race, ethnicity and indigeneity in U.S. society; and community building on- or off-campus to create an inclusive and respectful environment for all. The winners will be announced at the annual Diversity Form on Tuesday, October 27. Nominations are due Monday, September 14, and may be submitted at go.wisc.edu/s5v6e7. If you have questions, contact owoc.nomination@cdo.wisc.edu.  |  |  |  | Connect, Learn and Grow Series Adds New TopicsThe Connect, Learn and Grow series offers virtual learning and connection at no cost for UW–Madison employees. In the episodes now available, panelists and presenters address topics such as finding balance and motivation, meditative drawing, stress-relieving exercise at home, career conversations, and effective virtual meetings. Episodes vary in length from about 30 minutes to an hour. Future topics will include: making sense of current climate, personal resiliency, and recognizing and addressing conflict. This is one of many Virtual Learning offerings from Learning and Talent Development.  |  |  |  | Road Closures and DetoursEssential construction projects continue on campus. The eastbound lane of Observatory Drive between Bascom Hall and North Hall has reopened. All of Observatory Drive is now open between Park and Charter Streets. Park Street southbound between Langdon Street and Lathrop Drive will be closed until October 2020.
