Donations can help Partners in Giving reach $2 million

The Partners in Giving 2024/25 Awards Ceremony, held March 11, honored volunteers who did outstanding work to support the campaign and campus units that made strides to increase participation. Organizers also announced that the campaign had raised $1,924,379 up to that point. Additional donations are needed to reach the $2 million goal. There is still time to support the needs of the wider community by giving to a diverse variety of charities. Donations will be accepted through May 15. Visit giving.wi.gov to learn more.

Nominations open for 2025 IT Recognition Awards

Nominations are now open for the 6th annual UW–Madison IT Recognition Awards, celebrating staff who excel in their information technology roles and strengthen our university community. All UW academic and university staff working in the information and technology fields are eligible for the awards. Nominations should be submitted by the April 27 deadline. Recipients will be honored at a ceremony during the IT Professionals Conference on May 29. Visit the IT Recognition Awards page to review the awards criteria and guidelines.

New agreement with Building Trades employees approved

A new collective bargaining agreement with the Wisconsin State Building Trades Negotiating Committee, which covers campus Building Trades employees, has been approved by the Joint Committee on Employee Relations, the state legislature and Gov. Tony Evers. The agreement includes a 4.12 percent general wage adjustment for employees within this bargaining unit, effective June 30, 2024.

Lifesaving Narcan nasal spray available in more campus locations

To promote campus safety and prevent overdose, UW–Madison installed 10 new naloxone boxes in university buildings, including Memorial Library, Fluno Center, and the Arboretum. These boxes provide free access to Narcan, a brand of naloxone nasal spray, which is a lifesaving medication that can rapidly reverse an opioid overdose. With the addition of these boxes, Narcan is now available at 35 campus locations. For a full list of locations on campus and more information, visit the UHS harm reduction resources webpage.
