The Office of Cybersecurity has received a confirmed report of compromised credentials associated with LinkedIn, Tumblr and Myspace. These accounts had email addresses used as the Login ID and included addresses containing the “wisc.edu” domain, which could potentially expose personal and university data. The Office of Cybersecurity is notifying individuals directly if their account was compromised. If notified, you will need to change your NetID immediately. Protect your personal identity and the security of the campus network.

Kevin Niemi and Bruno Browning have been elected as vice chair of the Academic Staff Executive Committee (ASEC) for a one-year term starting July 1. Kevin Niemi is director of outreach programs in WISCIENCE (Wisconsin Institute for Science Education and Community Engagement) and has served on ASEC since July of 2013. Bruno Browning is chief information officer for the College of Letters & Science. He has served on ASEC since July of 2014.

Construction on the near west part of campus has begun so expect increased traffic in the area, including the Observatory Drive, Walnut Drive, and McClimon Track areas. Work includes upgrading the fields to a permeable synthetic turf system for outdoor programs, including intramural sports, sports clubs and special events. It will include a large amount of earth and rock work to prep the site for the turf installation. The project also includes upgrades to lighting, scoreboards, new fencing, backstops for softball and baseball, and new access to the fields. The project is expected to be completed in November 2016.
