| | February 1, 2019 | | | Workplace Workouts Come to CampusThe Workplace Workout program offered by UW–Madison Recreational Sports (“Rec Sports”) invites employees to get up and move for better fitness and health. Personal trainers lead weekly lunchtime workouts and exercises that can be done anywhere. Workouts will be held on Tuesdays, February 5–March 12, 11:45 a.m.–12:30 p.m. at Memorial Union. Wednesday sessions will be offered February 6–March 13, 11:45 a.m.–12:30 p.m. at Union South. Each session includes six classes for $30. All fitness levels are welcome, and a Rec Sports membership is not required to participate. Those who wish to present at the conference are invited to submit session proposals by Friday, Feb. 15. Conference organizers are seeking proposals on these topics: building influence, campus resources, relationship building, workplace skills, wellness, and engagement, inclusion, and diversity. Registration is also open for the conference, which offers UW–Madison employees skill building, networking, and practical tools for personal enrichment and professional development. Early bird registration is $100 for those who register and pay by February 15. | | | | Regents' Academic Staff Excellence Awards Nominations DueNominations are now being accepted for the 2019 Regents’ Academic Staff Excellence Awards. These awards recognize non-instructional academic staff. Across UW System, there will be two individual recipients, and a third award to honor an outstanding program. The awards will be presented at the June 7, 2019 meeting of the Board of Regents. Awards criteria and nomination guidelines are available online.
