Employees' 2016 W-2 Wage and Tax Statements are now available online in the MyUW portal. Statements are located under the Tax Statements tab in the Payroll Information module. Paper copies of the W-2 will be mailed via U.S. mail and postmarked by Jan. 31, 2017. To increase the security of sensitive information online, any U.S. Social Security or Taxpayer Identification Number has been removed from the online statements.  Employees filing a paper tax statement must fill in those numbers in the 'a' field at the top of each Form W-2 section.

As we start a new year, it is time for many employees to complete the annual Outside Activities Report (OAR) covering activities undertaken in 2016. Faculty and staff are encouraged to participate in outside activities, share expertise, and transfer intellectual property to the private sector. All faculty, regardless of appointment, all academic staff with a 50 percent or greater appointment, and all individuals listed as participants on human subject protocols or on federal grants are required to fill out an annual Outside Activities Report (OAR) and update whenever new outside activities are undertaken. Your annual report for activities undertaken in 2016 must be completed by April 30, 2017. Please come join the University Staff Chinese New Year Celebration from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 26, at Varsity Hall in Union South. There will be food, refreshment and music provided. You do not have to RSVP and the event is open to the public. Those on campus and the greater Madison community can participate.
