Pay Adjustments Coming for Faculty and Staff

UW–Madison has announced that Faculty, Academic Staff, University Staff, and Limited Appointees will be receiving pay increases totaling 4 percent under the 2017–2019 pay plan. The four percent increase will be phased in, with the first 2 percent taking effect in July 2018 and the second 2 percent in January of 2019. To be eligible to receive the increases, individuals must have been employed in their current positions by January 8, 2018, must complete UW–Madison's sexual harassment prevention training, and must be meeting performance expectations as identified in their last performance evaluation. Supervisors must complete performance evaluations for the employees they supervise.

Pay Increase Announced for Certain UW–Madison Employees

UW–Madison has announced a pay increase of up to 50 cents per hour for employees in the University Staff category who earn less than $15 per hour. Any current employee designated as University Staff who earns less than $15 per hour will receive an increase in hourly pay beginning with hours worked January 21, 2018. The exact amount of the increase will vary based on the individual's current pay rate. Individual employees may receive an increase of up to 50 cents per hour, for a total pay rate that will not be more than $15 per hour.

Website Addresses Hostile and Intimidating Behavior

Faculty and staff members at UW–Madison now have a new online resource to help identify and address instances of hostile and intimidating behavior (HIB) on campus. The new website includes a definition of hostile and intimidating behavior, sometimes known as “bullying,” as well as information about what to do to prevent it and ways to address it when it happens. On-campus resources include offices that offer advice, consultation, and support, as well as translation and interpretation services. Hostile and intimidating behavior is prohibited by university policy. The website can be found at hr.wisc.edu/hib.

Free Session Introduces Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a tool for capturing and analyzing visitor traffic to your website. WiscWeb DoIT is hosting "What Can You Do with Google Analytics?" on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 8:30–10:30 a.m. in the Memorial Library (728 State Street), Room 126. The session is designed for anyone who is interested in using Google Analytics to inform their strategies for getting more website visitors. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged. An additional session is tentatively scheduled for March 28.
