Symposium Focuses on Women & Leadership

The UW–Madison Women & Leadership Symposium will take place on Thursday, June 7, 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. (check-in beginning at 7:30) at Union South. The event provides networking, professional development, learning from women leaders, and sharing of best practices. A keynote address on “How to Have Difficult Conversations” will feature Deans Diana Hess (School of Education), Linda D. Scott (School of Nursing), and Soyeon Shim (School of Human Ecology). The event is open to anyone interested in women’s advancement. The conference fee is $50 and the deadline to register is Tuesday, May 29. For more information, visit go.wisc.edu/20j9g1.

Well Wisconsin Webinar Promotes Healthy Living

Well Wisconsin will offer “Life Hacks for Greater Health and Well-Being” on Wednesday, May 16, noon–12:30 p.m. This webinar will suggest quick and easy changes that can have substantial impacts on emotional and physical health and well-being. The recorded webinar can be viewed online after May 16. Well Wisconsin Program participants can access a number of informative webinars on the StayWell wellness portal. Canvas Workshops Help Instructors Improve Effectiveness

With this semester’s experience fresh in mind, instructors and teaching assistants can start improving their Canvas courses for next year by attending “Teaching Effectively in Canvas” sessions and technical trainings. A variety of topics will be offered between May 21 and June 1. “Teaching Effectively in Canvas” sessions provide strategies for applying learning principles, assessment, interactive learning, and individual learning. Technical trainings focus on file management, lesser known features of Canvas, and managing grades.

Terrace Store Pop Up Shop Extended to May 19

The Terrace Store Pop Up features the 2018 Terrace merchandise collection, including Terrace-themed apparel, gifts, and more at all price ranges. The shop will be available until May 19, rather than May 12 as previously announced. The Memorial Union Terrace Store Pop Up Shop is open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Paul Bunyan room on the first floor of Memorial Union. Proceeds from the Terrace Store help support UW–Madison student leadership opportunities. This store is available for a limited time only. Online shopping is also available at terracestore.union.wisc.edu.
