Parking applications for 2018–19 now open

Applications are now open for 2018–19 parking, valid Sept. 1, 2018, through Aug. 31, 2019. Applications are due June 8 for the first application period (“round one”). Round one parking offers will be emailed to applicants July 13–19. Offers must be accepted and purchased by August 7. If you miss the June 8 deadline, you can apply during the second application period starting in mid-July. If you have not had a parking permit in the past, you must contact your Unit Transportation Coordinator (UTC) for approval to apply for the 2018–19 parking year. Bus passes and afternoon, night, motorcycle, and moped permits will go on sale August 1. To apply for a parking permit, visit go.wisc.edu/jfj079.

Performance Management Skills for Employees

Professional development classes are available to UW–Madison faculty and staff at no charge. Upcoming classes are designed to prepare employees for the performance management process. “Creating and Communicating Your Goals” is scheduled for July 10, 9:30–11:30 a.m. Go to go.wisc.edu/l5i61l for more information. “To Get What You Want, You Have To Talk About It: Employee’s Role in the Performance Management Process” will be offered July 23, 1–4 p.m. Details can be found at go.wisc.edu/x7orp8. Deadline Near for Research Staff Conference

The registration deadline for the Research Staff Professional Development Conference is June 11. This free conference will be held on Wednesday, June 20, 9 a.m.–2 p.m. (with registration and continental breakfast at 8 a.m.) in Cooper Hall at the School of Nursing. The conference is designed to meet the professional development needs of research staff who work as laboratory technicians or laboratory managers. Nadine Connor, PhD, professor of communications science and disorders and associate vice chancellor for research policy and compliance at UW–Madison, will deliver the keynote address.
