Employee Sessions Explain Free Tuition Programs for Those Who Qualify

Free tuition programs can make a UW–Madison education affordable for employees’ children and other family members who are eligible for financial aid. Information sessions for employees will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2:30–3:30 p.m. at Gordon Dining and Event Center and on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 11 p.m.–midnight at the Health Sciences Learning Center (HSLC). Employees will learn about two financial aid programs for Wisconsin residents: Bucky’s Tuition Promise and Badger Promise. All UW–Madison employees are welcome.

Electronic-Only W-2 and 1095-C Forms Now Available

UW–Madison employees now have the option of receiving all future W-2 and 1095-C forms in electronic form only each January. Employees who choose this option will no longer receive paper forms via U.S. mail. Electronic forms reduce the risk of lost or stolen forms. If you consent to electronic-only distribution of W-2 and 1095-C forms, you can change your mind at any time. Consent forms must be submitted by January 11, 2019 for the 2018 forms. Sign up by going to “Tax Statements” in the Payroll Information module in MyUW.

HR Website Redesigned for Ease of Use

UW–Madison employees will now have easier access to key human resources information online, with the launch of a redesigned website by the Office of Human Resources. The website provides information about pay, benefits, and other HR topics of interest in a user-friendly format. The site also offers essential information for specific employee groups such as new employees, current employees, and international employees. Site users will find links to additional resources in areas such as well-being, professional development, and multilingual and multicultural services. Visit the site at hr.wisc.edu.

Deadline Extended for Vision and Supplemental Dental Insurance

The Department of Employee Trust Funds (ETF) has extended the enrollment deadline for VSP vision insurance and Delta Dental supplemental dental insurance for benefits-eligible UW–Madison employees. The application for VSP vision insurance is due November 9 at 4:30 p.m. The application for Delta Dental supplemental dental insurance has a deadline of December 28 at 4:30 p.m. To apply for either type of insurance during the extended enrollment period, you must submit a paper application to your human resources office. Online enrollment is not available.
