Applications Open Soon for University Staff Scholarships

University Staff employees will be able to apply for Professional Development Scholarships beginning on Thursday, Feb. 14 at 1 p.m. The scholarships can be used to register for non-credit courses at no charge. Approximately 30 courses will be offered through the Division of Continuing Studies. Applications will be awarded on a first-come-first-served basis until all the scholarship funds have been used. Employees who are interested in receiving scholarships are encouraged to act quickly. The scholarship program is funded by the office of the Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration. Academic Staff Can Apply for Professional Development Grants

Applications are now being accepted for the Spring 2019 Academic Staff Professional Development Grant program. The program is offered to academic staff members who meet the eligibility requirements and hold at least a 50 percent appointment. Grants are for activities beginning between July 1 and December 31, 2019. Two free informational sessions will be offered on “Writing a Successful Professional Development Grant.” The first session will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 6, noon–1 p.m. in the Health Sciences Learning Center, room 3260. On Tuesday, Feb. 12, a second session will be held noon–1 p.m. in Union South (check TITU for room). If you have questions, please contact Jake Smith at pdrc@soas.wisc.edu or 263-2985. The deadline to submit applications is Friday, March 8, 2019.

Register Now for America Saves Week Events

UW–Madison faculty and staff can learn about financial wellness during America Saves Week, February 25–March 1, 2019. America Saves Week offers a variety of tools to help individuals and families save money, reduce debt, and save for the future. In-person workshops, live webinars, counseling sessions, and educational materials are offered. Advance registration is required for events. All events and online resources are available to UW–Madison employees at no cost. Details are available at wisconsin.edu/ohrwd/americasaves.
