Re-Enroll to Continue Certain Benefits in 2020

The Annual Benefits Enrollment period is currently underway and will end on October 25, 2019. Even if you do not want to make any changes in your benefits elections for 2020, some plans require that you enroll each year to continue your participation. Be sure to enroll if you wish to participate in the Flexible Savings Account (FSA) in 2020, including Health Care FSA, Limited Purpose FSA, and Dependent Day Care FSA. You must enroll in a Health Savings Account (HSA) each year if you choose a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP). If you wish to decline health insurance, you must opt out every year to participate in the State Group Health Insurance Opt-Out Incentive Plan. Registration for Wellness Symposium Closes Friday

The registration deadline is this Friday, Oct. 11 for the UW–Madison Wellness Symposium on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 8 a.m.–2:30 p.m. at Union South. At this event, employees can explore different aspects of well-being at work, find tools and resources for stress management and resilience, define their wellness goals, and connect with others who are interested in wellness. Free, 30-minute credit report reviews will be available by appointment. Attendees can come and go throughout the day. The $35 registration fee for UW–Madison faculty and staff includes breakout sessions, the keynote presentation, and lunch. For details, visit hr.wisc.edu/wellness-symposium.

Workplace Workouts Offer Lunchtime Fitness

Recreation & Wellbeing (Rec Well) is offering 45-minute lunchtime workout classes to UW–Madison employees. Classes meet once a week for seven weeks at Memorial Union, Union South, and the Space Science and Engineering Center. All fitness levels and abilities are welcome, and you do not need to be a Rec Well member to participate. There is a $35 fee for each class series. Registration is now open for sessions starting at the end of October.

Upcoming Fair Serves Those Involved in Research

The Researcher Regulatory Fair will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 11 a.m.–1:30 p.m. at Union South. The fair will bring together a number of campus departments that help researchers navigate regulatory and compliance issues. Anyone involved in research, including faculty, post-docs, graduate students and administrators, is welcome to attend. Free refreshments will be available, and Bucky Badger is scheduled to appear. Advance registration is not required.
