Campus leadership has announced some changes to campus activities after the end of the spring semester. Beginning Monday, May 10, new guidelines will be in place for access to campus buildings, visitor and guest access to campus facilities, on-campus COVID-19 testing, and activities and events. All employees are encouraged to have a plan for vaccination and to get vaccinated on or off campus. On April 16, 2021, campus leadership announced a change to the employee furlough program originally implemented in January 2021 (Round Two of Campus-wide, Intermittent Furlough). Furlough obligations will be reduced by one day (8-hour equivalent) for all faculty and staff. This change is intended to provide some financial relief to employees, and is being made in response to updated information about the university’s fiscal outlook. Employees have been participating in the furlough program in different ways, and the appropriate adjustments need to be made for each circumstance. Employees will receive additional details from the human resources office at their school, college, or division in the coming weeks. The majority of parking permits and passes will see a one percent price increase for the 2021–22 parking year (Sept. 1, 2021–Aug. 31, 2022), following a one-year temporary rate increase suspension last year. A list of rates and Transportation Services policies can be found on the rates and policies webpage. Information about parking applications for the 2021–22 parking year will be released the first week of May. The current increase in Flex (pay-per-use) parking offers and reduced and low-cost parking options will continue to help ease a return to campus. The University Staff Recognition Award is presented each year to those employees who are recognized for their outstanding achievements. Anyone can nominate a member of the University Staff for the award. Although there are no strict criteria, the Awards Committee offers suggested focus areas for those who wish to make nominations.
