Chancellor Finalists Visiting This Week

Five finalists for the position of chancellor at UW–Madison are visiting campus this week to meet with and answer questions from the campus community. Three remaining sessions are scheduled for May 4–6 at various locations and times. UW–Madison employees may attend the sessions in paid status, with supervisor permission, if the sessions fall during normal work hours. During their visits, finalists will also interview with the Special Regent Committee and interim UW System President Michael Falbo, as well as other campus stakeholder groups, including shared governance representatives, students, faculty, and deans. The deadline to submit feedback on the finalists is noon on Saturday, May 7. More information, including details about the candidates, can be found at chancellorsearch.wisc.edu.

Women and Leadership Symposium Provides Professional Development

The UW–Madison Women and Leadership Symposium will take place on Wednesday, June 1, 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. at Union South. The keynote speaker will be Joseline Nyinawabera, MBA ’22. Nyinawabera is the founder of BlkBld & Co., a boutique marketing firm that helps black-owned businesses grow and scale. She will speak about building an authentic and strong personal brand. Attendees can also choose from breakout sessions on topics such as leadership, networking, career resilience, mentoring, cultivating happiness, strategic self-promotion, facilitating conversations around race and difference, male advocacy in the workplace, and more. The event is open to anyone interested in women’s advancement. The conference fee is $75 for UW–Madison faculty, staff, and students. The registration deadline is Wednesday, May 18.

Nominations Open for IT Recognition Awards

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2022 IT Recognition Awards. Information and technology professionals across campus are eligible to receive these awards. Award categories include diversity, equity and inclusion; community engagement; team achievement; lifetime achievement; transformational achievement; Rising Star; and Unsung Hero. Detailed descriptions of each award category are available online. Awards will be presented as part of the IT Professionals Conference on June 3, 2022. Nominations are due by May 13 and should be no more than 500 words. For details, visit go.wisc.edu/ywj38v.
