The reduced-cost campus parking permit program is being expanded for the 2022‒23 parking year. There are two main changes. The salary threshold will increase, and reduced-cost permits will now be available wherever full-price annual base lot permits are offered. The UW–Madison Policy Library, available at policy.wisc.edu, is the single, up-to-date resource for all university-level policies. All campus constituents are invited to provide feedback about their experience using the library by completing a brief user experience survey. The results will be used to continue to make improvements to the policy library.

The Learning Communities for Institutional Change & Excellence (LCICE) is accepting applications to join the Leadership Institute for the upcoming fall semester. Leadership Institute is a space for people engaging formally or informally with diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice work at UW–Madison. It upends the traditional definition of “leadership” based on position and hierarchy to build opportunities for all participants to hone their leadership capacities, commitment, and agency to be leaders of societal change toward equity and justice. A substantial time commitment is required, including two to three hours per week with required self-work between sessions. Applications are due by Monday, Aug. 1, to be prioritized for the limited number of spaces in the fall 2022 cohort.

Fully Prepared to Lead is a competency-based professional development program available to UWMadison employees at no cost. Participants can choose the courses that work best for them, or can choose to complete the Certificate of Leadership Competency. Leadership is demonstrated in actions and behaviors, not in one’s position or authority. The courses focus on what individuals can control to influence positive changes in their work environment. Courses upcoming in August include Coaching and Developing Others (virtual), Modes of Conflict Management (classroom), Giving and Receiving Constructive Feedback (virtual), and others. Advance registration is required. The program is offered by Learning and Talent Development.
