Ice Cream Social with Chancellor Mnookin Tomorrow

In celebration of Chancellor Jennifer L. Mnookin’s first day on campus, all UW–Madison students, faculty, and staff are invited to join her on Bascom Hill for an ice cream social Thursday, August 4 from 2 – 3:30 p.m. A variety of Babcock ice cream flavors will be available, including gluten-free, dairy-free and sugar free options (while supplies last). Information is available online in multiple languages.

Second and Third Shift Employees Invited to Join Chancellor Mnookin for Refreshments

During her first days on campus, Chancellor Mnookin wants to meet and acknowledge those UW–Madison employees who work the second and third shifts on campus. Employees are invited to join the chancellor for bakery treats, fresh fruit, and coffee on Monday, August 8 from 11 p.m. to midnight at Union South, Varsity Hall, 1308 W. Dayton St. Parking in Lot 80 (Union South Parking Garage) for this event will be free between 10:30 p.m. and 1 a.m. Additional parking will also be available in Lots 56, 54 and 45. Information is available online in English, Spanish, Hmong, Tibetan, Chinese, and Nepali.

Learn about Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) and Temporary Waiver

The Connect, Learn and Grow online learning series will present a session on “Navigating Public Service Loan Forgiveness and Its Temporary Waiver” on Thursday, Aug. 4, from 1-2 p.m. Thousands of student loan borrowers are qualifying to have the remainder of their federal student loan balance forgiven through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program and that number is only increasing due to its recent but temporary expansion. In this session, you will learn about the requirements for the PSLF program and its temporary waiver, how you may benefit from it, and what borrowers need to do before the temporary waiver expires on Oct. 31, 2022. Register in advance at no cost to receive the Zoom link.

Employee bus passes and afternoon, night, moped, and motorcycle permits for the 2022–23 year (valid Sept. 1, 2022 – Aug. 31, 2023) are now available for purchase through the Transportation Services eBusiness portal (go.wisc.edu/tsebusiness) or at one of the Transportation Services offices. Detailed parking information can be found at transportation.wisc.edu.
