In January, UW–Madison will provide a 2 percent wage increase to most employees under the 2021–2023 pay plan. All Academic Staff, Faculty, Limited, and University Staff are eligible to receive the pay plan increase (certain eligibility criteria apply). The 2 percent increase will be effective Jan. 1, 2023. Employees who have met the eligibility criteria will see the increase on their earnings statement for Jan. 26. Employees who are receiving the pay increase will receive a written communication informing them of their new pay rate.

UW‒Madison will be closed on Monday, Dec. 26, 2022, and Monday, Jan. 2, 2023, because the legal holidays of Christmas and New Year’s Day both fall on Sunday this year. When a legal holiday falls on a Sunday, the legal holiday is observed and UW–Madison is closed on the Monday following the legal holiday. Due to varying business needs throughout UW and some ongoing operations, some employees may be required to work on one or both of these legal holidays. Employees with questions may confirm their work schedules and time off with their supervisors.

Active UW‒Madison employees can receive W-2 and 1095-C forms via electronic-only distribution. Electronic forms are available earlier than mailed paper forms and delivery is environmentally friendly and secure. Complete consent forms by January 12, 2023, using the instructions in the Electronic Only Consent tipsheet. Once consent has been given, the forms will continue to be electronic until consent is withdrawn or an employee is no longer working at UW. If you do not complete consent forms, have withdrawn consent, or have terminated employment prior to January 12, 2023, you will receive W-2 and 1095-C forms via U.S. Mail at the address on file. Please check your address on file and update it if necessary in MyUW > Personal Information > Update My Personal Information > Addresses.

The Wisconsin Union team will observe special hours at Memorial Union and Union South during the upcoming winter break. Both buildings will be closed Dec. 23‒Jan. 8. The buildings will then be open from Jan. 9‒Jan. 22 with modified hours. Visit union.wisc.edu/hours for details.
