  • Answers to common questions about Workday

    Workday, the new Universities of Wisconsin cloud-based software platform that brings together data about people, finances and operations, will launch on July 7, 2025. All UW–Madison employees will use Workday in some way and should start training now to be prepared for the transition. Employees can find answers to frequently asked questions about Workday, as well as other updates, at atpmadison.wisc.edu.

  • Registration open for Student Employment Summer Summit

    The 6th annual Student Employment Summer Summit will take place on Wednesday, June 18, 10:45 a.m.–4:15 p.m., at Gordon Dining and Event Center. This in-person event brings together supervisors, hiring managers, and others who support student employment at UW‒Madison and beyond. Keynote speaker Vantrel Mainor will share the processes involved in helping students become more self-sufficient. The event is hosted by the Student Employment team in the Office of Student Financial Aid and is offered at no cost. Registration opens today, May 14, and is due by June 4.

  • Showcase 2025 resources available online

    Resources from Showcase 2025, which took place on April 17, are now available on the Showcase website. These include a recording of the fireside chat with Provost Charles Isbell Jr. and Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration Rob Cramer, copies of the breakout session presentations, and digital versions of the posters.   • Administrative Quality Satisfaction Survey final reports issued

    A year ago, UW–Madison employees and graduate assistants participated in the Administrative Quality Satisfaction Survey (AQSS). The results revealed an improvement in overall satisfaction compared to 2022. The comprehensive final report and an interactive tableau with detailed data are now available on the AQSS website.   • Campus Drive off-ramp closure to affect west UW campus, University Hospital travel

    The Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District begins the first stage of its Highland Avenue sewer project May 12. The Campus Drive off-ramp to Highland Avenue will be closed. West campus area travel will be heavily impacted. Motorists should plan an alternate route and allow for extra travel time.   • Changes coming to MyUW as part of transition to Workday

    On July 7, 2025, MyUW tiles related to specific employee self-service and manager self-service tasks will get a refresh. A new Workday tile will replace the Time and Absence, Personal Information, Manager Time and Approval, HRS Approvals used by supervisors, and Payroll Information tiles. Employees do not need to add the Workday tile as it will automatically update in MyUW. Some self-service functions will be unavailable at the end of the day on June 14 so that the transition to Workday can be completed. For more information, visit go.wisc.edu/ski458.

  • Review and update personal information in MyUW by June 14

    As part of the upcoming transition to Workday in July 2025, employees should review and update their personal information, as needed, in MyUW by June 14, 2025. This information can be updated using the Personal Information tile. At the end of the day on June 14, your personal information will move to a read-only status in the Human Resources System (HRS). You will be able to see the information in HRS, but not make updates until July 7, 2025, when all Universities of Wisconsin employees begin using Workday. The deadline to review and update direct deposit payroll information and federal and state W-4 forms via the Payroll Information tile in MyUW is June 30, 2025.

  • Late-night employee recognition event on May 14

    UW–Madison is hosting a special event to recognize second- and third-shift employees on Wednesday, May 14, 10:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. in the Lake Mendota room at Dejope Residence Hall. All employees are welcome. Employees can attend during work hours without loss of pay. Employees who are not scheduled to work during this time can also attend; they will not be paid during that time. Details are available in English, Spanish, Hmong, Tibetan, Chinese, and Nepali.   • Campus travel to be affected by construction this summer

    Construction projects are expected to affect all modes of travel around University Hospitals, the west campus area, Engineering campus, and North Park Street this summer. Alternate routes are recommended for motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians to safely navigate campus this summer. Metro Transit buses will detour.   • Women and Leadership Symposium invites registrations

    Registration is open for the Women and Leadership Symposium on Wednesday, June 4, 8:30 a.m.–3:25 p.m. at the Memorial Union. This event brings together engaged professionals for networking, professional development, learning from women leaders, and sharing of best practices. The event will feature a keynote address from Dr. April Scott on “Finding Your Anchor in Uncertain Times.” Breakout sessions will address topics such as relationship building, well-being, building influence, career management, and workplace skills. The event is open to UW–Madison employees and community members who are interested in women’s advancement. The registration fee of $100 for UW–Madison faculty and staff and UW affiliates includes the keynote, breakout sessions, continental breakfast, and lunch. Register by May 20 to secure your place at the symposium.
