Learning & Talent Development

As part of UW–Madison’s Office of Human Resources, the Office of Talent Management sponsors and manages over 3,000 learning events including training courses, seminars, and conferences each year. Their website is a good resource and starting point for you to find a wide range of professional development opportunities.

Online Training

UW–Madison has a subscription to LinkedInLearning, a vast, online library of training videos and tutorials on software and more. This resource is open to all faculty and staff — just log in with your NetID.

HIPAA Certification

You can get HIPAA training and more information through Learn@UW.

IRB Training

The Institutional Review Board office offers outreach and training sessions for groups and departments on a variety of IRB topics.

Business School

The Wisconsin School of Business offers certificate programs, online courses and other professional development opportunities for you and your team.

College of Engineering Interdisciplinary Professional Programs

The University of Wisconsin College of Engineering offers a portfolio of professional education programs and services for engineers, managers, technical professionals, and partner organizations.

Division of Continuing Studies

With an extensive catalog of both credit and noncredit courses, including many targeted to and scheduled for nontraditional students, Continuing Studies can be an ideal place for your professional development needs.

Faculty and Staff Professional Development

The Office of the Provost supports Faculty and Staff Professional Development, including specific “chat series” designed for academic staff, assistant professors and mid-career faculty.

Professional development provides you with an opportunity to learn while working. Professional development provides you the opportunity to maintain, improve, or develop new knowledge and skills that can help you in your current job, and advance or even change careers.
