  • Making the transition to Workday: Help and resources

Workday is now live and can be accessed through a new tile in MyUW. The Universities of Wisconsin offers a list of the top 10 things for faculty and staff to do when starting with Workday. If you need support, visit the GetHelpUW page on the Workday website to submit a help request (called a “ticket”). You will receive a confirmation and be able to track the progress of your help request.

You can also find information on how to use Workday for self-service and manager tasks. UW–Madison offers HR Guides for Employees and HR Guides for Managers and Supervisors. These resources provide details on editing personal information, entering time worked, requesting time off, installing the Workday Mobile app, and much more. Employees and supervisors should also follow the recommendations provided by their school, college, or division HR department. Links to resources, training, and answers to frequently asked questions can be found at atpmadison.wisc.edu.

  • Help make UW–Madison a drug-free workplace

All faculty and staff are encouraged to contribute to a drug-free workplace. You can do this by learning the facts about substance abuse, encouraging others to avoid substance abuse, and knowing where you or others can go for help with a drug or alcohol problem. The laws and expectations regarding substance abuse apply to all members of the UW–Madison campus community. You can review this information and find resources for drug and alcohol abuse prevention at go.wisc.edu/j15c7c.

  • Reminder: Workday training available for all faculty and staff

Workday, the new Universities of Wisconsin cloud-based software platform that brings together data about people, finances, and operations, will launch on July 7, 2025. All UW–Madison faculty and staff will use Workday for employee self-service tasks and everyone is encouraged to complete Workday training.

  • Avoid Workday phishing scams

Workday goes live at the Universities of Wisconsin on July 7. Along with new tools and processes comes a reminder about added vigilance to avoid phishing attacks. We expect to be targeted by phishing attacks as we implement this new system, and we are counting on all employees to help keep UW secure by detecting and reporting phishing attempts.

You can protect your personal data and protect sensitive data within the system by recognizing phishing red flags and using cybersecurity best practices. If you receive a suspicious email or text message that is related to Workday, do not reply or click on links. Report the suspicious email via Outlook or forward the suspicious message to report-spam@doit.wisc.edu. Remember that security is a shared responsibility, and vigilance is key in combating cyber threats.

UW–Madison leaders sent a message to faculty and staff on June 23 with an update on cost-saving measures.
