Campus leaders address preserving UW-Madison’s mission amid financial uncertainty
On Friday, March 21, 2025, Chancellor Jennifer L. Mnookin, Provost Charles Isbell Jr., and Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration Rob Cramer sent an email message to faculty and staff. The message referenced the March 14 passing of an appropriations bill by the U.S. Congress to keep the federal government running. Campus leaders affirmed that significant uncertainty remains as UW–Madison faces another appropriations deadline in September 2025.
In their email, Mnookin, Isbell Jr., and Cramer shared an update on the steps UW–Madison is taking to preserve our short- and long-term ability to carry out our mission amid this uncertainty. The email also referred campus community members to the Federal Updates page for updates, information and resources relevant to campus. The full message is available in six languages at news.wisc.edu.
