UW-Madison employees who are eligible for State Group Health Insurance can choose to enroll in a new Accident Insurance plan that provides coverage for accidents and catastrophic events. This plan, administered by Securian Financial, helps cover unexpected expenses by providing a lump sum payment for illness or injury due to accident. Examples include fractures, stitches, and hospitalization. The plan also includes identity theft coverage and benefits for accidental death and dismemberment. Coverage is available for employees, spouses and children. Monthly premiums start at $3.26 for an employee only. Eligible employees who wish to enroll in the Accident Insurance plan may do so during the Annual Benefits Enrollment period, which ends on October 25, 2019.
