New Labor Rules Announced

The U.S. Department of Labor has increased the salary threshold the Fair Labor Standards Act to $47,476 annually from $23,660. Employees whose salary falls below the new threshold must be paid hourly, report hours worked, and be compensated for overtime. The new rules go into effect December 1. OHR is working closely with HR departments campus-wide on how the new rule will be implemented to ensure compliance. We will provide more information once the new federal regulations are fully interpreted.
