Construction on the near west part of campus has begun so expect increased traffic in the area, including the Observatory Drive, Walnut Drive, and McClimon Track areas. Work includes upgrading the fields to a permeable synthetic turf system for outdoor programs, including intramural sports, sports clubs and special events. It will include a large amount of earth and rock work to prep the site for the turf installation. The project also includes upgrades to lighting, scoreboards, new fencing, backstops for softball and baseball, and new access to the fields. The project is expected to be completed in November 2016.
