  • TTC Project Forum Recording Now Online

    A video recording of the Title and Total Compensation (TTC) Project April all-campus informational forum is now available online. Topics covered in this forum include the updated project timeline; employee and supervisor conversations; official title notification letters and appeals; and learning opportunities and resources. The presentation slides are available in multiple languages. All employees are encouraged to watch the video, particularly those who were unable to attend a virtual forum or would like another review of the material.   • Memorial Union, Union South Open to All

    Memorial Union, including the Terrace, and Union South are now open to all, including Wisconsin Union members, community members, and visitors. Memorial Union includes nine on-site dining options, including the seasonal Brat Stand and Lakeview Lounge. Union South includes five on-site dining options, including the recently added South Cantina, which features Southwest-inspired menu options. Seating is available both indoors and outdoors on a first come, first served basis. Free, live music and free film showings will return to the Terrace later this summer.   • Distance Teaching and Learning Conference Invites Registrations

    The annual Distance Teaching & Learning (DT&L) Conference will be held virtually this year on August 2–5. This event is designed for online administrators, instructors, and designers, and offers more than 75 sessions ranging across design, teaching and curriculum. The conference will also feature keynote sessions and networking opportunities. Faculty and staff who register with their wisc.edu email address will receive an exclusive registration fee of $99.   • IT Recognition Awards Accepting Nominations

    The IT Professionals Recognition Awards Committee is accepting nominations for its annual awards program that recognizes Information Technology (IT) professionals across campus. Awards will be conferred in seven categories. Nominations are due Friday, May 21 and should be no more than 500 words.

  • Campus Updates Plans for Summer

    Effective Monday, May 10, guidelines have been updated for students, faculty, and staff planning to access the UW–Madison campus. These guidelines address summer building access, ongoing health protocols, testing and vaccination, the campus events policy, and the travel policy. The message to the campus community has been emailed to employees and will be translated into multiple languages. Specific information for Fall Semester 2021 is still being finalized and will be shared as it become available. Additional details, including FAQs, are available at covidresponse.wisc.edu.

  • Resources for Employees Moving from Monthly to Biweekly Pay

    All UW employees who are paid monthly will be moving to a biweekly pay schedule beginning in July. UW System is hosting the final two virtual Town Halls for employees in May. A Town Hall will be held on Thursday, May 13, 4–5 p.m., specifically for those employees who are paid over 12 months. A final Town Hall on Monday, May 17, 1–2 p.m., is an open session for all employees paid monthly. Both sessions will include time for questions and answers. Employees will have online access to the presentation videos and slides after the events. Both UW–Madison and UW System offer a variety of helpful resources for employees, including payroll calendars, frequently asked questions, a preparation checklist, personal financial tips, and more.   • University Dining Open for Summer

    University Housing Dining will be offering meals and snacks at Four Lakes Market and Starbucks Coffee starting May 17 and running through August 14. Four Lakes Market will move from à la carte (pay for what you take) service to an All-You-Care-To-Eat (buffet style) service for all customers during summer term. You will pay for your meal upon entry to the market. Prices are $7.75 for Breakfast, $10.00 for Lunch, and $10.50 for Dinner. More information is available at housing.wisc.edu/dining/locations/.

  • Student Help Hiring Automation Process Launches June 1

    An enhancement to the Student Jobs Platform that automates the hiring process will go live June 1, 2021. Student Help opportunities will now be able to be hired automatically to the campus hiring system (HRS) once an offer has been created and accepted through the Student Jobs Platform. The Student Employment Team will be offering Student Jobs Platform trainings and drop in-virtual office hours to assist users beginning in June.   • Town Hall on Single Payroll for Employees with 12-Month Contracts

    All UW System employees who are paid monthly—including UW–Madison employees—will be moved to a biweekly pay schedule beginning in July. Employees who are currently paid monthly over 12 months can refer to the Single Payroll timeline for information on how the transition will impact their payroll schedule. A virtual Town Hall will be hosted by UW System on Thursday, May 13, 4–5 p.m., specifically for those employees who are paid over 12 months. Advance registration is not required. The event will be recorded for viewing later on demand.   • Mandatory Cybersecurity Awareness Training has Begun

    All UW–Madison faculty and staff are required to complete Cybersecurity Awareness Training by June 30, 2021. Employees received a “Welcome” email last week from Drip7, DoIT’s partner in delivering the training. Follow the instructions in the email to log in and complete the training. You may start the training and come back to it or complete the entire training at once. The training should take less than 25 minutes to complete for most employees. A text-based version of the training is very accessible to all users, including those with disabilities; enroll at canvas.wisc.edu/enroll/F7G6PP.
