  • ShopUW+ Resources and Training Available

    ShopUW+, the new University of Wisconsin purchasing and payables platform, will launch April 16. It will be the single point of entry for catalog (currently MDS) orders, requisitions, purchase orders, direct payments (DPs) and payments to individuals (PIRs). Introductory training courses are now available. The week of April 12, skills-based courses will be available by role for shoppers, requesters, and approvers of requisitions or payments.   • Metro Transit Invites Feedback to Guide Redesign

    Madison Metro is conducting a Transit Choices Survey as part of a complete transit network redesign. The goal is to create a new system of bus routes that better serves the needs of Madison area residents and businesses. Survey responses will help determine the priorities of transit service in the Madison area, including connections to and from campus. The survey will be open through the month of April.   • Last Reminder to Register for Showcase

    Showcase 2021, a free annual event highlighting innovations and improvements on campus, will take place on Thursday, April 8 from 9 a.m.–3:30 p.m. Anyone who is interested in attending must register by April 7 at 5 p.m. in order to gain online access to the event.   • More Opportunities for Vaccines for Employees

    University Health Services is now offering COVID-19 vaccine appointments to all employees at UW–Madison, including in-person and remote employees. To search for and schedule appointments at UHS, visit go.wisc.edu/myuhscovidvax. Appointments at UHS are limited due to limited COVID-19 vaccine supplies. All eligible members of the UW community who are interested in vaccination should also seek appointments off campus and can find options by visiting dhs.wisconsin.gov/covid-19/vaccine-get.htm. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services also offers a registry to schedule available appointments in the community, which can be found at vaccinate.wi.gov/en-US.

  • Reminder: Split Benefits Deductions Coming for Employees Paid Biweekly

    For UW System employees—including UW–Madison employees—who are currently paid biweekly, most deductions for benefits such as health, dental, vision, and life insurance will be split evenly over the first two biweekly paychecks starting with the April 22, 2021 paycheck. UW–Madison employees who are affected by this change are encouraged to review the information and financial resources available at hr.wisc.edu/pay/split-benefits-deductions. From this web page, employees can follow the link to frequently asked questions and answers (FAQs) provided by UW System. These FAQs are available in English, Spanish, Hmong, Tibetan, Chinese, and Nepali. Trained representatives are available to answer employee questions and can be reached by phoning 608-265-2257 or by emailing 2021payrollchanges@ohr.wisc.edu.

  • Newsletters Offer Professional Development for Employees and Managers

    Two monthly e-newsletters are available to UW–Madison employees on a subscription basis. Learning and Talent Development offers a monthly newsletter that highlights upcoming professional development opportunities available to employees at no cost. MANAGE newsletter is a monthly resource that provides information of particular relevance to those with management or supervisory responsibilities. Managers will also discover ways to engage more fully with individuals and teams in the workplace. Both newsletters offer content that can help employees contribute to a healthy, inclusive, and engaging work environment at UW–Madison. Subscribers may change their email preferences at any time.   • Professional Development Opportunities to Enhance Teaching and Learning

  • TTC Project Goes into Effect Fall 2021

    The Title and Total Compensation (TTC) Project will re-engage campus to implement the new job title structure in the fall of 2021. As part of the project, employees will continue conversations with their manager or human resources department to confirm their job title and position description. Some employees may have had conversations in each school, college, and division. All conversations will be complete by early fall. Over the last several months, the project has matched job titles to the market, developed a new salary structure, collaborated with the human resources community and begun to re-engage shared governance partners.   • COVID-19 Testing Exemption for Vaccinated People

    Effective Wednesday, March 17, employees and students who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 are no longer required to participate in routine on-campus testing. Your Badger Badge in the Safer Badgers app will remain green/Building Access Granted unless you report symptoms or test positive for COVID-19. Individuals vaccinated by University Health Services do not need to submit proof of vaccination for this exemption. If you have been vaccinated off campus, you must submit proof of vaccination.   • Virtual Courses Provide Skills for Thriving at Work

    Free professional development is available to UW employees through the Thrive@UW–Madison program. Participants learn skills that can help them contribute to a healthy, inclusive, and engaging work environment. Topics include navigating times of change, active listening, building trusting work relationships, identifying and reducing bias, managing stress, and developing a growth mindset to solve challenging problems. Six different virtual courses are offered and each may be taken individually. Registration is required.
