Tips for Avoiding a Rejected COVID-19 Saliva Test
Students, faculty, and staff are now participating in a new, saliva-based COVID-19 testing program in preparation for the start of the spring semester. Those who follow the guidelines and suggestions are more likely to have a successful saliva test. Tips and FAQs about the saliva-based testing can be found on the Covid Response website at covidresponse.wisc.edu.

W-2 Forms Now Available Online
Electronic 2020 W-2 Forms are now available online on MyUW at https://my.wisc.edu. Employees will receive a paper copy of the W-2 Form via U.S. mail by February 1, 2021. Paper copies are mailed to all employees except those who chose electronic-only delivery of their W-2 Form by January 18, 2021.

Spring Semester Health and Safety Program Announced
The spring semester COVID-19 testing plan includes new measures to enhance the safety of the campus community. Beginning Jan. 25, faculty and staff working on campus or using campus facilities will be required to test regularly. Proof of recent negative test results will be needed in order to access campus facilities and services. A free, easy-to-use mobile app called Safer Badgers will help employees and others schedule tests, quickly obtain test results, and access additional health resources. Employees will be receiving weekly updates throughout the month of January in preparation for the new campus safety protocols. Prepare for Spring Semester with the Safer Badgers Website
A Safer Badgers website is now available at saferbadgers.wisc.edu. Members of the UW–Madison community will find the information they need to prepare for the spring semester COVID-19 testing requirements. The website provides details about campus testing, the Safer Badgers app, and building access. DoIT offers information on how to get started with and use the Safer Badgers app at it.wisc.edu/learn/guides/safer-badgers-guide. Current faculty, staff, and students who do not have smartphones can borrow a limited-use smartphone at no cost through a campus loan program administered by the DoIT Help Desk.

Update on Dane County Public Health Order
A new public health order takes effect Wednesday from Public Health Madison & Dane County. Officials continue to advise against gathering with people outside your immediate household; however, the new order permits indoor gatherings off-campus of no more than 10 people, with face coverings and physical distancing required. Outdoor gatherings off-campus of up to 50 people are now permitted, and participants must maintain physical distancing.

Electronic Delivery of W-2 and 1095-C Forms Available
Active UW–Madison employees can choose to receive W-2 and 1095-C forms via electronic-only delivery. Electronic forms are available earlier than mailed paper forms. Electronic delivery is environmentally friendly and secure, with less risk of lost or stolen forms. To choose electronic-only delivery, go to MyUW at my.wisc.edu and then to Payroll Information. Select Tax Statements. You can then complete the consent forms to receive your W-2 and/or your 1095-C electronically. If you do not consent to electronic-only delivery, your W-2 and 1095-C forms will be sent to your mailing address in the MyUW portal. The deadline to choose electronic-only delivery of forms for the 2020 calendar year is Monday, Jan. 18, 2021.

COVID-19 Campus Updates Available Online
University Health Services has started to vaccinate eligible employees and students with the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. Those who meet Phase 1a eligibility have received an email with instructions for making an appointment. Fourteen campus sites will support campus testing in the spring semester. UW–Madison provides the latest updates, information, and plans at covidresponse.wisc.edu. Please continue to monitor this website for the most up-to-date information for employees, students, and other members of the campus community.

Review Your Benefits Enrollment
This is a good time to review your earnings statement and make sure the 2021 benefits changes you requested during Annual Benefits Enrollment have been made. Your earnings statement can be found in MyUW at my.wisc.edu. You can also review your benefits elections as listed in the “Benefit Information” module in MyUW. If you have any concerns, please send an email to benefits@ohr.wisc.edu by Jan. 22. You can also ask your local human resources contact for assistance.

Nominations Open for Academic Staff Excellence Awards
The UW–Madison Academic Staff Excellence Awards will honor nine extraordinary individuals in several categories, including excellence in teaching, service to the university, research, leadership, public service and outreach, dedication to excellence, and career achievement. Nominations must be submitted by January 22, 2021. Resubmissions are encouraged and may include updated materials. TSA Retirement Program Offers Live Webinars
The UW Tax-Sheltered Annuity (TSA) 403(b) Program is a supplemental retirement savings program that allows employees to invest a portion of their income for retirement on either a pre-tax basis, an after-tax basis (Roth), or a combination of both. Participation in the UW TSA Program is voluntary, with employees making the entire contribution; there is no employer match. Live webinars scheduled for January, February, and March will provide information about the TSA Program and other topics related to budgeting, investing, and planning for retirement. Registration is requested. Introductory information about the TSA program is available on demand and can be viewed anytime.
